Life Is Good

Life around our house has been pretty busy lately but it's been good and I love it!!  I thought perhaps after our super busy summer and several projects were done around the house it would start to feel like life was slowing down.  After all, the three kidlets are all in school!  Alright, so little A is still in Kindergarten.  I had heard some people say they can't stand K year because of the half-day thing and I admit last year it always felt like I was rushing around.  But this year my Kinder is in morning so I'm not really feeling rushed much.  She leaves on the bus in the morning and I have 3 1/2 hours to myself.  To myself!!  I think this year is perfect because I only have to miss my sweet K-er half a day and then she comes back all excited about her day so far and we're ready to hang out the rest of the afternoon just us.  Except for the times that I'm watching the 2 kids I watch 1-2 times a week and when we set up playdates with friends.  I guess we maybe only have 1-2 afternoons just us two but it's perfect.  In the mornings I've been able to go bike riding (with the hubs even!), golf (also with hubs!), clean uninterrupted, paint, sometimes read, garden, garden, garden!, help out in my 1st graders class once a week and basically be able to think somewhat.  And last week I woke up and thought, "I think I want to take a run today."  SAY WHAT?!  It's been some time since I've thought that and I don't think I've ever thought I WANT to run.  Crazy.  So, I went.  I thought I wouldn't make it very far so I only planned on a 3/4 mile run around the block.  Low and behold when I completed the circle I still felt really awesome so went again.  I am terrible at running!  I put you all to shame with my awful running-ness.  But, this day I felt pretty awesome running.  My lungs and heart were great and I hadn't felt that great running in probably longer than I can remember.  Well, I paid for it in a week of sore legs and hips.  But, I also paid for it in lower blood sugars.  Like, awesome blood sugars.  They are usually alright, but they were awesome for the next 3 days.  So, once I wasn't sore again I went running again!  WHAT?!  This time I ran 2 miles!!!!  But, even more important, I felt like I could've kept going.  I didn't because I remembered how sore I was and for how long.  I think the farthest I've ever, ever ran is 2.3 miles.  That was when I was training for a 5K.  Only, the morning I woke up for the 5K I felt awful and my performance showed for it.  So, basically, I'm feeling pretty awesome about myself right now.  Also, September is soccer season and that keeps us really busy.  This year is our first year with 3 in soccer.  Oh boy!  And I'm the coach for my 5-year olds team.  We do soccer 4 days a week; 6 games a week and 1 practice.  Can I just tell you though, I'm really having so much fun with being coach!!  I was a bit apprehensive because I don't know soccer well at all and get all flustered when I'm head honcho of anything but it is so fun!  We started out with a party for our team at my house and played games and chose our team name to get some team spirit feeling in before playing together and it's been great ever since.  Our team, the Eagles, is really awesome!  I think September is just the best month.  To top off a great month I just had an extra today babysitting for this family and she was so stinking cute!  Just made my day.  Perhaps I was happy also to be able get this shy little thing to warm up to being here enough to smile and have fun.  Yes, life is good.  And I must be feeling chatty. Pictures now!

Little A's first game.  She rocked it!

B working some skills

This pic is hilarious to me!  She doesn't let this kind of thing affect her love of the game.
She is a tough cookie!

Running the ball up for a chance at a goal

My little man's first game

This is a big step up from pee wee soccer.  He has fun.  His quote to me from the other day when he couldn't make a game, "I hope they have [teammate] there because he's pretty awesome and I'm pretty awesome but at least if they have him there they'll be okay without me".

It's dress up time!!  The two I normally watch + their cousin today (+ mine, of course)

Stinking cute little princess!!!

California Visitors

Alright, so we didn't get any pictures over the weekend of J's brothers family but we did snap some when they came to our house Wednesday night.

Playing with Potato Heads!  My niece got to play with some big kid toys because all our little, little toys are put away or gone.  She didn't seem to mind.

Da boys playing ring toss.  Little J liked challenging his uncle.

Meanwhile, J cooking up some yummy mexican grub in the kitchen.......

Bug couldn't decide whether to make a male or female potato head so she made a boy/girl.  Something tells me she likes to be silly.

Craning to see how da boys are doing at ring toss.  Her interest in the game is what landed her in the bucket.  She seemed quite content in there.

With a full belly, who wouldn't be happy and giggly!

Happy little.

This kind of visit is  much of the reason we are happy for our move here.  Lots more family time!  I'm sad though that I didn't get any pics of me with my niece even though I spent lots of time playing with her!  We were glad we had time to spend with them amidst our busy school/soccer season!
